The Original Tams

The Arts & Vine Series is thrilled to welcome back Beach Music legends The Original Tams to the Pomeranz Auditorium at the Mann Center of North Carolina. The Original Tams will bring the crowd to its feet once again, on Wednesday night July 17. Doors open at 7 pm and the show begins at 7:30pm.

The Tams are one of the legendary names when it comes to Beach Music. Probably best known for their 1968 gold hit, “Be Young, Be Foolish, Be Happy”, the Tams are celebrating the recent success of their newest single, “Ain”t Nothing Like Shagging”, which reached number 8 on the European charts.

After years of appearances and 10 albums, The Tams have been honored with two Gold Records. In 1986, the group received the coveted award and title “Beach Band of the Decade”, at the Beach Music Awards. In 1988, The Tams were spotlighted as the Outstanding Black Musical Group by the Atlanta Black History Awards. In 1992, The Tams were inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame.

Still quite popular in the Southeastern United States, they continue to record new music and perform at well-attended concerts. Their unique sound spans all ages, styles, and regions. “They are the Beach, they are good times, they are simply rock and roll at it”s finest.”

Make plans to join us and The Original Tams at the Arts & Vine Summer Concert Series, taking place at the Mann Center, Wednesday evening July 17.  See you there!
